Data Center Modernization Strategy
Precise enterprise architects and infrastructure experts developed a data center modernization strategy for a large government agency. We conducted a comprehensive data center and infrastructure inventory assessment, market research and product evaluation. We then designed a future state architecture that includes on-premises components leveraging technologies such as bare metal, hyper-converged infrastructure, software-defined network and storage, server virtualization, virtual desktop infrastructure, and containerization, as well as multi-cloud IaaS and PaaS components from major public cloud vendors.
We then proposed a multi-year, multi-dimensional roadmap that including migration plan from people, process and technology perspectives.
Enterprise AWS Infrastructure Implementation to Meet FISMA High Compliance
Precise is proud to be an AWS Selected Consulting Partner and Public Sector Partner. Our team of AWS certified solution architects, developers and system administrators designed, built and operationalized an enterprise AWS infrastructure for our federal customer to provide a highly secure, reliable and easy-to-manage cloud platform with the goal to achieve a FISMA High Impact level Authorization to Operate (ATO). Our comprehensive design and implementation included agency AWS account hierarchy, compute, storage, network, backup, disaster recovery, Direct Connect, cloud security, cloud management and infrastructure automation. We also developed comprehensive cloud standard operation procedures. The infrastructure has successfully obtained the ATO and is currently used to host agency’s mission critical systems, and is served as the alternative cloud disaster recovery (DR) platform for the agency.
Cloud Migration of Enterprise Applications
Precise team successfully worked with our customer to architect, design, and migrate its legacy ColdFusion applications from on-premises servers into the AWS environment. Our approach of incremental migration encompassed steps of: discovery & assessment, migration planning, migration execution, and operate & optimize. As part of this effort, Precise team performed in-depth technology and dependency analysis of the application portfolio, investigated ColdFusion software and Windows OS upgrade path, developed cloud architecture and migration roadmap. We supported data migration, software configuration, application deployments and operation support. As the result of our comprehensive cloud migration planning and execution, Precise team successfully migrated 14 ColdFusion applications with a 12-month Period of Performance.
